Exam Results Days - Summer 2010

PLEASE NOTE: RESULTS WILL NOT BE GIVEN OUT WITHOUT PHOTO IDENTIFICATION.

 

GCE (AS/A2) Results Day:                 Thursday 19th August from 10am – 12.30pm GCSE Results Day:                              Tuesday 24th August from 10am – 12.00pm GCE (AS/A2) Results Day: Thursday 19th August Results will be given out to students in the Street area from 10am – 12.30pm. If you are unable to collect results and would like a family member/ guardian to collect them on your behalf, you must submit a letter to the Exams Department to inform us who will be collecting your results, prior to the day that results are released. You must then ask your family member/guardian to bring some form of photo ID with them on the day and ask them to come into college on the times mentioned above. If you are unable to collect results on the day, the Exams Department. will post results first class to your current home address (or an alternate address if given prior to the Results Day). We cannot guarantee that results will be received by you the next day. POST RESULTS ENQUIRIES: If you have any queries regarding your results, you must contact the Exams Office immediately. Results enquiries can be submitted to the Exam board, but there are strict deadlines to adhere to. Please see www.gateway.ac.uk for further details. Forensic Science Taster Sessions

Year 13 students interested in studying Forensic Science courses at university are invited to attend a taster session at Nottingham Trent University to include:

·        Testing your powers of observation in their state-of-the-art crime scene house by examining several ‘scenes of crime’

·        Trying your hand at some forensic laboratory techniques

·        Information about courses and the opportunity to question their academics.

Reminder: You must provide all your own equipment including calculator for the exam on Friday 11^th June (am).

 

The college no longer has stocks of many items and so even purchasing kit on the day will not be possible.

Science at DMU

Within the School of Allied Health Science, DMU offer undergraduate courses in Biomedical Science, Medical Science, Forensic Science and Pharmaceutical & Cosmetic Science.

To help students get a better understanding of what their courses entail, and how they are relevant to the working environment, they are holding a Science Taster day on the 19^th June 9.30 – 3.00.  The purpose of the day is to get students participating in a range of activities within each of the science subjects and experience their first class laboratories, with trained academics on hand for demonstrations and questions.
